In your article Populist route in PAS politics? you quoted PAS vice-president Husam Musa as saying: "The Chinese here are allowed to earn a living."

Is this meant to indicate how enlightened and politically liberal PAS has become? Isn't the right to earn a living a fundamental human right for every Malaysian citizen, irrespective of race or religion?

This statement betrays the blatant racism and bigotry of people like Husam who think that the right to earn a living in Kelantan is the exclusive right of Muslims - or more precisely Malay Muslims - and a special privilege to be meted out sparingly to non-Malays, whether Muslim or otherwise by the PAS government.

Husam also said: "What are they afraid of? That we are going to be like the Taliban? If that is so, that would mean they do not understand Islam as a religion."

Oh, really?

Husam, I do not understand what you mean. In plain talk, are you saying that if 'they' understand Islam as a religion, 'they' would not fear the despicable fascism of the Taliban? And who are 'they'?
