I certainly agree with the writer of the letter MAS turning out to be country's largest scam .
The airline's staff should not now be the ones to suffer for all the scams run by MAS' top management. Why were there no open tenders for all MAS contracts? Why was no action taken if it was "open secret" that in-flight catering services were being charged at a much higher cost?
What about auditing of MAS' advertising budget? Some say MAS spent a staggering RM100 million last year advertising their First Class comforts. That advertisement, by the way, made most MAS passengers sick to the bone.
Imagine seeing all that space in First Class being lavishly advertised for the rich while the poorer Economy Class passengers are packed like "sardines". Why did MAS have to advertise this discrimination at the expense of their 'bread and butter' passengers?
First Class passengers already know of these lavish comforts and they are most likely the airline's frequent flyers. MAS doesn't have to spend RM100 million to rub this in and annoy the rest of us. Maybe someone should check the relationship between the advertising agency and the senior management at MAS.
Another area worth checking are the perks provided to MAS' top management staff. Why are so many MAS staff provided with luxury cars and drivers? I am informed that some are even provided with the latest BMW 5 series. Is this necessary? Why not a Perdana or a subsidised rate for car loans?
