I have travelled several times with AirAsia to Thailand and within Malaysia. Lately their services and punctuality have been atrocious.
My Hadyai to Bangkok flight was delayed from about 2pm to 7pm. Thai Airasia had the courtesy to contact me and I asked to transfer to another airline, which was granted .
However my latest trip on AirAsia from Penang to Kota Kinabalu (Dec 21-28 last year) was really terrible. The Penang to KL flight was delayed from 2.55pm to 4pm (arriving at KLIA after 5pm) causing me to nearly miss my flight to KK at 5.10pm, but which was also delayed till 6.15pm.
The return trip was a nightmare. The KK to KL flight was delayed from 2.05pm to nearly 4pm and the KL to Penang flight delayed from 9.05 pm to 11pm. On top of that, the aircraft had a cabin pressure problem (aircraft shaking and unstable) and had to return to KLIA.
In the end, I reached Penang at 1am the next day (incurring a costly taxi fare). All my calls of complaint to AirAsia are answered by a machine recording and my e-mails are not replied. I think AirAsia truly needs to improve their services.
