The atmosphere was ready. And it was polling day. It was PAS vs BN. In the end, BN won with a slim majority at Pengkalan Pasir in Kelantan. Who was running the show? Najib? No. The BN candidate? No. Abdullah Ahmad Badawi? No.
Not many realised this but it was actually Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman, the Election Commission chairman, who was responsible for BN's victory. He knew BN would lose, so he allowed phantom voters to participate.
Abdul Rashid was the puppet of the recently concluded Kelantan by-election at Pengkalan Pasir. The PAS supporters saw everything. They lodged complaints with him, but behind their backs, he laughed because he knew PAS was too poor to win.
I feel sad and had angry with Abdul Rashid for doing this. Should he resign? But his resignation won't solve the internal problem. Corruption and vote buying is always there. Once you get influenced by BN Sdn Bhd, you will ensure everything goes in their favour. This is Malaysian politics.
Whoever is in power and has got the money will win no matter how dirty and manipulative they are in winning an election.
I am sick and disgusted with this. This is a 'kiasu' way to win. The question is when can we go clean?
