APs: Dr M remorseful?
The newspapers today carried Dr Mahathir Mohamad's disappointment with the way the AP issue was resolved with him saying that still only two or three people were deciding on the allocation.
Serves him right for feeling disappointed. In his long tenure as PM, he took no opportunity to make the entire country and its system of functioning transparent. He instead fudged it further with opaque policies and a system of negotiated tenders favouring of a few selected individuals.
Is he feeling remorseful now that he has mellowed and seen the higher levels of life? If so, then he should stand up and make a plea for good governance that is accountable to the people, not just to a selected few.
I am sure all Malaysians (or the majority at least) will support him. I pray that God gives him the courage to admit his failures and mistakes, just like he did when he switch the teaching of Maths and Science to English. That was about the only good long-term thing he did while in office.
