Khoo Kay Peng has argued that Malaysians have no courage . But does the Malaysian who wants to "fight" the system have a choice, given the ISA and other government-controlled mechanisms?

Any attempt by non-Malays to even start anything to rectify the major flaws in the nation (such as the NEP or the current over-zealous Islamisation) would immediately be transformed by the powers-that-be into a racial issue and no one wants that.

If you want to exercise your voting rights to throw out the corrupt and unscrupulous government, the alternative is either a weak choice (Keadilan/DAP) or something even worse which could lead Malaysia to join the fundamentalist Islamic league.

Courage needs to be tempered with pragmatism for survival. Those who have migrated have demonstrated that. Non-Malays have really no choice. The non-Malays can only demonstrate their courage when their Malay brothers and sisters themselves show not only courage but also strength in their courage. Will that day ever come?
