It's so absurd for the government to save RM4.4 billion from the fuel subsidy withdrawal and pump RM2 billion to float MAS which it claims needs RM4 billion to stay afloat. It's even more absurd to hear MAS post RM1 billion in losses for its latest financial year.

Again the small man is being asked to sacrifice. Each time Pak Lah wants to raise funds, he goes after the small guy. Dr Mahathir Mohamad was known to be a nasty guy, but at least he has the small guy at heart. Look at how he distributed extra bonuses for the civil servants, an income tax waiver for one year, pump primed the economy using foreign loans and Petronas monies so that the small-time contractors could feed their families.

Our Pak Lah is scared to offend the big boys at Petronas, so if he needs to raise funds, he turns to bullying the small man. He has slowed down the economy as he turns off the taps.

In spite of all the talk on good corporate governance, the small man is again forsaken by the Securities Commission. Many pensioners and small investors struggle with rising costs and inflation whilst company directors continue milking their companies.

I just cannot understand why these directors are still paid their full fees and allowances when their companies do not have any core businesses. There you go again, the small man suffers, big shots enjoy.
