I totally disagree with our leaders to comparing our fuel prices with those of other nations. Firstly, my salary is in ringgit and not in a foreign currency. Secondly, we are net importer of oil and gas. So, their statements are not justifiable.
If the government wants to increase the fuel prices, just do it, there is no need to compare. Don't try to fool us with these kind of statements that Malaysians still enjoy the lowest rates in the region just like our toll rates, airport taxes, etc.
And don't tell us to change our lifestyles as if we are stupid people. Again, I wish to reiterate here that we do not get paid in Singapore dollars. I am paid RM2,000 a month. If I am paid S$2,000 dollars, then I don't have any complaints. Only then will I agree with our BN leaders that ours is the cheapest in the region.
Our car prices are also expensive. In the UK, Proton cars cost less than 10,000 pound sterling. My friend who works there says that it's very much more affordable than here. His job is the same as mine here and he draws 2,000 sterling pounds a month. We have the same qualifications
So now, what are our leaders talking about? Are they trying to fool us? Malaysians are now more matured and we can't be fooled anymore. I would urge our legislators to grow up and stop talking nonsense in the Dewan Rakyat.
