Go ahead YB, blame the victims
I refer to the letter Rape: Badruddin should retract statement .
I was disappointed, however ,that the learned MP did not also see the connection between the immoral West and the rape that goes on. But then again, he rightly pointed out that dressing was the reason that women get raped. How true. It is really the victim's fault.
The five-year-old daughter who is raped repeatedly by the beast that she calls father, the 10-year -old sister who satisfies the lust of her teenage brother, the mothers, grandmothers, doctors, religious teachers, students ... they all must have dressed provocatively. They are all to be blamed.
They are to be blamed for getting themselves so 'dirty', they are to be blamed for turning their own lives into living hell, they are to be blamed for making the men rape them. Way to go, YB! We are proud of you and we are proud that the PM has elected such an intelligent person to be part of his esteemed team.
Just one idiotic question from me - do you know the definition of the word rape? Have you read one article on the issue in your entire life? (By the way, apart from Meera's letter above, there is another one beautifully written by JJ Ray and KJ John but then again it is in the immoral English language in the immoral malaysiakini so that may be a problem for you).
Tell you what sir, the next time I have a nine-year old girl relating her 'rape' to me in my clinic room, I will call you so that you can tell her how to dress properly the next time. For the rest of you who are not as 'intelligent' and 'educated' as the YB is, all I can say as a medical professional is that rape is not only a physical outrage, it is also an emotionally, mentally and spiritually traumatising event.
Please, never, ever, ever try to belittle its victims. Leave that to the morally upright politicians. God bless us, the people of this beautiful country, and save us from the people who are running (read ruining) it.
