I respect the decision of the chairman of the BBC club to resign his position as a matter of principle. It is time that our politicians do so because they believe in their principles and are ready to pay a price for their convictions.

We have too many politicians whose only principle is blind loyalty and for this, they are ready to compromise on any convictions they have. Party and political loyalties will even cause people to compromise on their religious convictions.

Standards have to be maintained and one must understand that Parliament has a role beyond party politics and loyalties. Keep it up, Shahrir. You have my vote and my respect.
