LETTER | Whatever shall be the outcome of tomorrow’s (Friday, Feb 20) pre-presidential and presidential council meeting of Pakatan Harapan's top leadership, shall be.

However, citizens if are asked, they would register two important pleas which all the president's men and women should not ignore, or even attempt to give lip service.

One is the need for a principle centred, law-abiding closure to the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder.

The latest spill by two sources (Sarawak Report and Americk Sidhu) indicates there are tremendous frayed ends that demand closure.

We cannot leave it to time and tide for justice to prevail.

Two, no one will disagree that the ongoing kleptocracy trial in court must come to an end and justice made to prevail soon.

There is only so much that we can stomach. When shreds of evidence are clearly splashed all over the ceiling, the mantra of 'innocent until proven guilty' must not be the ultimate hand tricks of savvy lawyers.

So, citizens are pleading that the government of the day will act more decisively in plugging these two crimes, namely the Altantuya murder and the 1MDB and its related thefts.

The leadership future of this nation is anchored on what and how soon the current government will bring to a formal, acceptable, righteous closure of these two epic cases that ultimately can set the tone for our beloved nation's future.

Hopefully, the presidential council will give its ears to this plea.
