Which planet do our politicians live on?
When I read the remarks by a selected few of our leaders that the rise in fuel prices and the electricity tariff will have no impact on the cost of living, I wonder from which planet they come from.
Why don't these selected few think first before they opening their mouths? The energy, water and communications minister said low-income households would not be badly affected, as the rates would be based on the amount of power consumed.
He said the majority of domestic users - 59 percent or about 3 million households - use less than 200 kilowatts (equivalent to a bill of RM43.60).
Wow! 50 percent of Klites pay less than RM50. I am staying in a kampong and already I use between RM80 to RM100 with no air-con. Maybe now I will have to use firewood for boiling water and cooking.
It is definitely easy for these selected few to talk (words do not cost them a single sen) when their
daily expenses are taken care of by the rakyat. I guess we should not be complaining as we put them in their seats in the first place.
What else is going up in the not-so-distant future? Prices of all things have gone up, so I guess we have no choice but to live with it. If we want changes, then when the time comes for the next balloting, cross anything but the 'dacing'.
