I refer to the letter Samy vs PAC: Time for PM to act . I agree to disagree with Mohd Kamal Abdullah when he said: 'Samy is a capable works minister but when he fails to follow routine then he has failed in his duty.'
A capable person knows exactly when to follow routine. Not only has Samy failed in his duty, he has failed in his promise to the citizens. A capable person answers to his duty without fail. Here we have an arrogant minister who thinks he is running the ministry like a sole proprietor without any shareholders. He disregards accountability therefore implying that he is not accountable to the rakyat who voted him. He has to realise that it is the rakyat who wants to know the answers. A face-to-face meeting with the PAC provides more clarity than a thousand written letters.
In spite of the PM's request to attend the PAC meeting, this arrogant minister still insists he will not attend the meeting and will instead explain by writing a letter. A non-compliance with the request shows he is hiding information particularly with the MIC elections just round the corner.
His arrogant attitude shows that he answers to no one including the PM and the rakyat. He is staging a 'coup d e'tat' against the government and the rakyat. Do we need such a dictatorial minister in our government?
