I read with amusement the letter from Mustapha Ong (hopefully he's Malaysian) threatening the ISA and Special Branch onto a Dean Johns for expressing an opinion in malaysiakini .

My advice to the former is you have missed the whole point of free speech .You don't need to agree with Johns' writing. Just counter it with your point of view and it will be left to readers to judge.

To threaten to deport a person (either Malaysian or non-Malaysian) just for expressing a viewpoint smacks of infantilism and is a step backwards to the dark, medieval ages .

It is also contrary to the Malaysian sense of good manners (or 'adat' as Mustapha should know better).
