LETTER | Mr Prime Minister, do you remember that you are now a Member of Parliament (MP) and prime minister (PM) today because of the coalition of Pakatan Harapan?

After you had been thrown out from the political scene by former PM Najib Abdul Razak and Umno, Harapan gave you a platform to come back and created you a new podium to contest as an MP. If not, you would be another political redundant by now.

I am not asking you to pay back Harapan for their support and kindness, but to be a responsible PM towards all your citizens, including opposition leaders and opposition MPs as well.

The recent arrest of DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng and his wife Betty Chew by the MACC clearly shows you are disingenuous in your administration as a PM and most of the decisions are out of your control now.

Anyway, logically, you won’t find any evidence in Guan Eng's case compared to the cases of your Umno friends or Najib and his wife Rosmah Mansor’s cases - unless some magicians are involved.

Do you know that the entire nation and world perceive that this is a politically-motivated action as a backlash against the opposition for destabilising your political power? Or that those in the government are finding someone to take revenge on for Najib's recent conviction?

I believe you are also stressed because the DAP, with 42 MPs, is the single party with the largest number of parliamentarians in the Dewan Rakyat.

I also know you do not have a decent majority in Parliament to rule the country.

The solution is, you have to surrender back this country to the rakyat because the way you run this country is unacceptable in this 21st Century, as well as in the name of democracy.

Go back to the ground and get the mandate from the rakyat to rule this country instead of being a doormat to your new political masters.
