LETTER | Political transgressions aggravating Covid-19 pandemic

LETTER | The politicians and their leaders of these parties must take the rap for the spike in Covid-19 cases in the country.

How long more must we citizens be held at ransom in this climate of the virus attacks that are bringing unpublished miseries to the people?

Looking back, wisdom tells us if only the political coup of February 2020 did not root, our people and the country would have had the strength to face the health scares and economic effects of this global pandemic.

As if the coup was not enough, we continue to remain powerless under the oppressive and cruel advancing of our politicians as they pull the rug from under the very carpets of constituencies and state governments.

Their sole agenda is to grab sweeping powers. To enrich their cradles of wealth. To hold iron clad controls so that all the institutions of government will be at their beck and call, including the hallways of justice where scandalous cases are being tried.

You cannot fault the people for believing that our politicians do not care much about the people's health and are bankrupt of capabilities to navigate the nation's economy.

Look at Sabah.

After the scandalous coup-like state election, the people are dumped, burdened with the fears of the Covid-19 escalating and bringing untold livelihood miseries on the urban and far interiors of the state.

Even as we reel under this threat, there is talk of political parties running over in Sarawak.

Why do we allow this unpatriotic, brutal blows on the well being of our beloved nation and its people?

Where are our guardians of nationhood? Their silence and the convenient coincidence of unavailability hit a piercing note in our hearts.

Indeed, the dark political agendas are weakening our nation and forcing the people into extremely vulnerable corners of struggle, trapping the country in economic gorges.
