Hushing things up wont help
The government of the day must not be a government of just one race but for all the races in this country. As this nation is multi-racial and multi-religious, we are bound to bump into one another in matters of race and religion.
Therefore, the government must take a proactive role in leading the nation and practising what is fair to the followers of faiths other than Islam. We are not in the least against Islam or for that matter any other faith. Nobody in their right frame of mind would want to oppose another person's faith.
My question is why should the Malays as well as those in Umno be so afraid of the erosion of their religious influence? As long as you practice your faith and belief in a way that does not threaten or affect others adversely or unjustly, then one should have all the confidence in one's own faith.
I believe that the government of the day should lead the people as true leaders, able and mature enough to discuss in a constructive manner any sensitive issue be it religion or race.
Hushing thing up does not means everything is well and good. Let's face it and iron out our differences after which we can then close ranks and thrive as one united nation in the true spirit of Bangsa Malaysia.
