I refer to the malaysiakini report Soil tests? We don't think so Mr Mayor .

Despite all the calls by various bodies and learned experts, the fact that City Hall DBKL is still considering development on the KL side of Bukit Gasing is ludicrous to say the least. Why are they still insistent on studying this development? Why is not possible for DBKL to throw out the application of the greedy developer once and for all and gazette this area as a green lung?

Already there is ample proof that quite a bit of development work has been done and efforts to cover up these activities can be blatantly seen. Who allowed this work? Is it legal for them to do so? A soil test does not need so much clearance of trees and the creation of a path to allow heavy vehicle to go through.

Why has there been no action taken by DBKL? Is DBKL just going to sit idly by and watch this destruction take place? Can the developer justify their actions to the people living in the vicinity of the proposed site? There are so many questions DBKL needs to answer to the concerned residents.

Let us be reminded of the Highland Towers incident. Lives were lost due to sheer negligence and greed. Why is it that DBKL cannot learn for the many tragic accidents that hillside developments have suffered?

The battle to develop this area has been going on for years and it is frightening to note now that it may become a reality and put over 10,000 peoples' lives and property at stake. Who will take the blame if a calamity were to happen. Can the government give a written undertaking to compensate lives lost? Everyone just washed away the blood of the Highland Towers incident from their hands. There is no issue of conscience for the mayor, DBKL, the ministers concerned or maybe even the PM.

Does the PM need to get involved in every issue in the country? Why is it that the person put in charge at DBKL cannot see the danger involved and put a stop to it? There must be an all-out effort to stop this development. We once again plead to the relevant authorities to stop this project right now. We plead to our PM to stop all hillside developments in order to protect the people and their lives.
