Jan 1 was D-Day for Visit Malaysia Year 2007. I was at a lunch party that afternoon and a doctor guest commented that our two main airports - KLIA and Penang - didn't even have a 'Happy New Year - Welcome to Malaysia 2007!' sign.

If true, that is so sad and speaks a lot of our Tourism Ministry's optimism in getting billions in foreign exchange into our coffer this year!

Maybe our prime minister should consider a small reshuffle of the cabinet level to get rid of some of the 'hanging on' ministers who are stuck in the past and don't seem to realise that times have changed with the advent of globalisation.

Why not send these 'have beens' on a study tour of some of our big neighbours like India and China (maybe with LCC fares courtesy of AirAsia!) so that they can wake up to reality.

I think maybe 90 percent of our lawmakers need to take up a refresher course on how small our world has become.
