Ketuanan concept not for global world
I refer to the letter Ketuanan Melayu above all . I, for one, do not agree that the Malay race is superior to the other races in Malaysia. All citizens should be equal in the eyes of God and the law. I would like MALAYsian to refute that.
Just because the Malays happened to be lagging behind the other races when we got independence and special privileges were given to assist them, this does not mean that those privileges are for life.
The original people of the land are the Orang Asli. Some Malays are now claiming that they and the Orang Asli are the same but I would like to hear that coming from the mouth of an Orang Asli.
I would like to know where Ketuanan Melayu will be when we finally become a big global village. Do you think foreign investors would like to do business with us if we insist on this 'special people' thing?
It is easy to run down non-Malay Malaysians and claim superiority but try that with foreigners. China, India, Cambodia, Vietnam are all countries that will more than welcome our foreign direct investment with no strings attached.
Any human being who believes in basic, decent human rights will not keep on insisting on special rights for a particular race but will instead insist that all citizens be treated decently.
