I refer to the letter Reps turn into 'smoke' after elections . It is no different here at Taman Johor Jaya where I am living.
I recalled weeks just before the elections, you could see tons of posters of the BN candidate in every nook and corner of Taman Johor Jaya. But as soon as the elections was won, the BN rep no longer seemed interested in the area he represented.
Garbage is not collected for days. Cars are indiscriminately parked at junctions causing dangerous bottlenecks to other road-users. Motorcyclists are blatantly breaking the traffic rules, not wearing safety helmets and beating the traffic lights daily.
Potholes and faulty traffic lights take ages to repair. Cybercafes owners are blatantly flouting licencing rules by admitting underage students. All this, plus frequent snatch thefts are the tell-tales signs that whoever the BN rep is, he or she is ineffective and does not deserve my vote come the next election.
Till today, I still do not know who the BN rep for Taman Johor Jaya is, let alone seen him or her in person after the last election.
But I am very sure when the next election draws near again, the same BN rep will suddenly be seen to be keen to look after the place I live in.
