I refer to the letter Dog-eating: Open letter to the Vietnamese ambassador .

The writer appealed to the Vietnamese ambassador take appropriate action to stop Vietnamese citizens in Malaysia from stealing, cooking and eating dogs belonging to residents of USJ, Subang Jaya.

Much as I sympathise with her plight and also that of her fellow USJ residents, her appeal has, unfortunately, been misdirected.

I am not aware that foreign diplomats are empowered or allowed to go around our country, outside of their embassies, doing law enforcement.

If there are evidence of dog-napping, I believe our police should be the proper authority to refer such matters to.
