I refer to the letter ' Jamaludin's good upbringing ' by Robita T Abdullah.
In her brief letter, she expounds on the fact that Jamaludin's father was strict and dark-skinned, that Jamaludin was too brilliant to make such a remark etc.
Puan Robita, I think you missed the point of the whole outcry. Jamaludin made a derogatory remark against a dark-skinned Indian, or to make it clearer, a non-Malay. The fact that his own father was a dark-skinned Malay has no bearing whatsoever here.
Also I am so so curious to know how Puan Robita measures Jamaludin's brilliance. In what pray tell? He is the Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations and he has done .... what so far under that banner? Hmm...strangely nothing of 'brilliance' stands out.
But Puan Robita is right on one account. We should find out what really/actually transpired.
But Puan Robita, that onus is on your good friend Jamaludin. If he has been wronged/misrepresented/misquoted/exaggerated etc, then should he himself not stand up and state as much? His silence is deafening, and in the absence of any defence, the juries will call it as they hear it.
