Allopathic drugs cant match trial periods of natural remedies
I refer to the letter Allopathic drugs strictly regulated unlike others . It is vital for the writer to acquire a fairly thorough understanding about the body of knowledge of alternative and traditional medicine before undermining the clinical worthiness of non-allopathic therapies. First of all, most allopathic drugs are chemical poisons by nature, unlike traditional products which are herbs or nutritional products .
There is a contention among allopathic vanguards that herbs are natural poisons but if one understands the history of the use of herbs, one will realise the length of time a herb was found to be an effective natural medicine is many thousands of years longer than any randomly- controlled trial ever conducted on an allopathic drug.
For instance the Indian herb neem is described in an ancient Tamil book called 'Thirumanthiram' written by the philosopher, sage and healer Thirumoolar at least more than two thousand of years ago. If neem has been identified as a healing herb, it has gone through a natural testing process of selection and elimination covering probably thousands of years. Millions of people have consumed this herb. This time-tried process would have brought to light any damaging effect and the herb would have been dumped as unsafe for medicinal use.
This experience which herbs such as neem has no parallel in allopathic medical research history, in terms of the depth and length of use in healing. No allopathic drug could match this historical experience which this herb has undergone. Most other commonly used herbs have also gone through these evolutionary process of safety and efficacy testing.
Allopathic poison has a pathetically short history of not even a hundred years. Allopaths who attack herbal or natural medicine must take the trouble to study the history of human health and medicine totally and not believe that biomedical allopathy is the only true medical science.
They must bring in evidence-based studies to prove that traditional herbal medicine is not effective or dangerous and dismiss them outright. Allopathic chemical drugs need to be regulated strictly because they are potent poisons unlike the traditionally used herbs.
It is time that allopaths accept the limitations, strengths and weakness of their science and open up the minds to search for new medical realities and not be trapped in their limited physical medical worldview.
