We are made to wonder again of shoddy works by contractors and their supervision by the Works Ministry.

The brand new Sungai Petani hospital is now leaking! This is unheard of in any other country. What will the Health Minster now say? We're lucky it did not happen in the surgical room! Can you imagine that?

The very fact that it happened should have irked the minister and spurred him and to get those responsible to act immediately. But not to worry, the Works Minister will be there with his comments and how much will be needed to rectify the damage, like always

It will better if someone were to suggest that a body be appointed to check all new public facility buildings during their DLP (defect liablilty period) to ensure that all works have been as per specification and up to mark. Being an independent party, they can assist and help remedy any situation.

During this process, we can hold the contractor completely responsible for all the works as compared to after the period when he is no longer responsible. Remember the MRR2 fiasco?

There was no mention of the contractor, only the Works Minster at the forefront defending with all his might. No mention about the contractor or even the contractors being hauled up to make a stand on their work.

Wonder if this will ever end.
