I refer to the letter Fake Muslims can bugger off by Saad Hashim.
Saad seems to know Lina Joy very well. In fact, Saad may be Lina Joy herself since he seems to declare with such confidence that Joy converted not out of sincerity to embrace Christianity but merely to marry her Christian boyfriend. Saad is a very talented man indeed as he is able to read minds and measure a person's faith to the extent that he labels her a 'fake Christian'. He also knows that Joy's boyfriend or Christian acquaintances are not devout Christians - even though he admits he does not know of their denomination - and have not tried to convince her to believe in Christianity.
With regards to Saad's statement that '... despite allegations to the contrary, the various state Syariah laws do allow Muslims to leave their faith provided procedures are followed ...' of course some Syariah courts have procedures for Muslims wanting to apply to leave Islam. It is the repression that follows an application to leave Islam which is preventing a former Muslim from approaching the Syariah courts.
Surely he must know that there are countless precedents of former Muslims being arrested and detained in rehabilitation centres for long periods of time during which they are subject to pressure and brainwashing by those who hold them in detention. How do you expect a former Muslim not to have great reluctance to go to the Syariah courts and incriminate themselves when even the police have proven that they are willing to take sides when it comes to this?
Will Saad defend a Christian authority that punishes a former Christian in such a way just because the said former Christian had decided to embrace Islam?
Saad also went so far as to compare Islam with the army. If he insists on such a comparison, Lina Joy did not choose to join this 'miiltary service'. And as we have seen throughout history, a military personnel whose heart is not with the military he serves tends to resort to acts that put his team at a great disadvantage, such as sabotaging.
