I refer to the letter A 'class action' against Ctos, anyone? Truly Malaysian claimed that 'most Malaysians at some point or other have suffered from Ctos' failure to update its database'.
My understanding of the word 'most' is that it means 'almost all', or at least a 'large majority'. The current population of Malaysia is almost 25 million, which means that according to Truly Malaysian, an estimated 15 to 20 million, or more, Malaysians have or will soon suffer from Ctos's failure to update its database.
From all the press reports so far, there is no doubt that many Malaysians have suffered from Ctos' failure to update its database. But to claim that 'most Malaysians at some point or other have suffered from Ctos' failure to update its database', is simply preposterous and only serves to highlight the writer's lack of objectivity. I personally do not know of anyone who has suffered from Ctos's failure to update its database.
Can Truly Malaysian truly claim that 'most' of the people he knows, including his relatives, friends and acquaintances have suffered from Ctos' failure to update its database? Finally, in case there are cynics out there who suspect I have a pecuniary interest in Ctos, I would like to state clearly that until a few days ago I have not even heard of that organisation.
