Ctos provides valuable service to creditors
I refer to the letter Ctos unfairly demonised .
I am in a business whereby the extending of credit is a normal affair. I am also a subscriber to Ctos for credit reference on all my potential credit customers.
In a business like mine, careful assessment is mandatory but ultimately the decision to extend credit falls back on the supplier. In my case, I utilised information from Ctos mainly to assess the credibility of clients bearing in mind that information from Ctos or any such service providers (if there are any ) are not up-to-date. But is the public aware that historical data on potential customers are still a must for any credit evaluation before any credit extension? I believe all banks too make decisions based on clients' historical data. That is why not all names appearing in Ctos are denied loans or credit facilities.
Based on my more than 25 years of experience, a big majority of customers, though they may not owe any debts to any one, are not necessary good pay masters. In many instances many customers 'enjoyed' being sued before they paid their debts. It is precisely this segment of customers creditors would like to know and only companies like Ctos who are inputting all legal action advertisements into their data base can provide such information.
