I would like to draw attention to the non-functioning traffic light at the four-way intersection that meets at Jalan Bukit Mayang Emas and the beginning of the Tropicana tunnel in Petaling Jaya.

This particular traffic light has not been working for a quite a while. How long exactly? When I left Malaysia to further my studies overseas, the traffic light was already not working. Four years later, I have graduated and am now working in the area, and the traffic light is still not repaired!

I am very concerned as it is extremely dangerous to have a four-way intersection without a traffic light to guide the flow of traffic safely. Compounded with the high traffic volume, it is not a matter of 'if' accidents will happen, but when. I myself have witnessed about four accidents in the past few months. Who knows how many other accidents have occurred?

I have made several complaints to the authorities regarding repairing the traffic light and was assured someone would be looking into it, but nothing has been done so far.

Why has nothing been done for years about this traffic hazard? Do we have to wait for lives to be lost before anything is done? I hope the relevant authorities can settle this issue once and for all.
