Look before you leap, Prim
In response to the malaysiakini report Prim can join BA as an 'unofficial party' (Dec 4), I would just like to suggest that it would be a terrible mistake for Prim to do so.
Prim left Keadilan because it felt that Keadilan was anti-Indian and was not only unable, but unwilling to fight for the betterment of the Indian community. And now it wants to get into an alliance with the BA? It wants to fight side by side with Keadilan? That really would be a terrible idea.
How could Prim even consider an alliance with a party which it sees as being racist? It would be a different story if Keadilan has changed and grown out of its alleged racist attitudes, but Prim secretary-general P Uthayakumar maintains that there is still "no respect for the Indians in BA and there (is) blatant discrimination against Indians in Keadilan".
How, then, could he even consider an alliance with them?
If Prim feels it cannot survive on its own and needs the backing of a larger political force, then its only option as far as I can see is to merge with the DAP. Other than that, it has nowhere to go.
A Prim in the BA would be the equivalent of PPP in BN, i.e. completely irrelevant.
