It is with deep regret that a man of such stature as the prime minister should choose a parliamentary session to, once again, liken our Suqiu friends to 'communists' (PM stands by remarks likening Suqiu to 'communists', Dec 11).

In the Chinese culture, 'loyalty' is a trait much treasured. They were the very people who voted for the government and placed their lives at stake. To hear of such comments made of them is indeed sad. What is the ultimate political agenda? Is it to use Suqiu to arouse anti-Chinese feelings and to allow the bloodshed of the past to be resurrected?

But I sincerely believe that many of our Malay friends who have eyes to see and ears to hear would know deep down in their hearts who the real 'instigator' of hatred is! During this month of fasting and prayer, may our hearts line up with the Almighty God to work towards true peace and unity.
