Why couldn't have Human Resource Minister Dr Fong Chan Onn ironed out the second Hari Raya issue earlier on in the year? Why talk about Vision 2020 when they cannot even see what is coming around at the end of the year? Why warn and threaten employers when they have to manage their companies in a competitive environment? For those employers who are struggling financially, they will have to bear with further strain on the health of their companies.

What type of message are we giving to foreign investors when we do things on an 'ad-hoc' basis? As an employer, I dare say on behalf of others that we have no qualms giving one day off for Hari Raya but the way it has been done is just not right.
