Selangor MB unfit to lead state
I refer to the Malaysiakini report Protest held over MPS' dog-hunt .
Selangor Mentri Besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo had supported the move by the Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) to organise this stray dog-catching competition which has now, fortunately, been called off.
This support by the Selangor MB for an inhuman and cruel dog-catching contest is truly an indication of his unsuitability to be the head of the Selangor state government. Furthermore, he ignorantly supported a barbaric, ill thought-out contest which could have directly brought shame and contempt upon the whole of Malaysia.
His support clearly indicated that this man is incapable of understanding which is the best way to eradicate the problem of stray and abandoned, unwanted pet animals (especially cats and dogs) which roam about in Malaysia.
He also apparently fails to understand that stray cats are, in fact, more of a problem, due to the risk to health because of the diseases cats can pass on to humans.
I cannot help but sadly wonder why Malaysia has degenerated over the recent years, reverting to become an increasingly uncaring, intolerant, arrogant and divided country where leaders such as the current MB of Selangor shamelessly display their innate shallowness, ignorance, and Third World self-serving mentalities.
