My wife and I purchased our house in Bandar Saujana Putra (BSP) because of our budget and the promise of having a wonderful life with three access roads and being only 20 minutes away from any important town.
There is to be a tolled interchange to connect BSP to the Elite Highway, providing access to the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) and Putra Heights.
We have waited for more than one year (promised to be completed in August 2006) for the access roads to be built. After numerous complaints by residents, the MP (Kuala Langat - Umno) for the area promised at a residents association meeting that the interchange will be ready by Aug 31 (a delay of one year).
I personally have received letters from the Selangor state government and Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (the owner of the land) that the interchange will be ready by Aug 31, 2007. Merdeka has come and gone - but still no interchange. The developer, LBS Berhad, had promised in a response to a newspaper article that it would complete the interchange in September - still nothing.
My wife and I, and the residents at BSP, suffer daily on having to drive 12km on a pothole-filled road without proper lighting to get to the LDP/Puchong - currently our only link to civilisation. We spend a minimum of two hours getting to and from work. We now have to spend more on traveling and on security (due to thefts in the area). Our quality of life has definitely deteriorated on all counts.
Worse still, LBS Berhad is recognised in the Selangor state government website as a 'pemaju berwibawa' (credible developer).
This hardship has only strengthened our resolve. Many of the residents in this area, just like us, are waiting for election day - to end BN's representation in this area.
