I live in the modern metropolis of New York, dealing with people of all creed. Today is Eid, as they call it in the western world as oppose to Hari Raya in Malaysia. The Muslims here, are working today although it is their day of celebration with or without their kindred. They are happy for the little what they can enjoy and the sacrifices they do and I am happy to see that they need to do what is important for them in their own sense.

We don't live in a perfect world, but we in our own way can make the world a perfect place to live. I guess that is why God has given us a sixth sense. All that is important is do we have the consciousness and ability to deal with it?

It is funny that today we have Malaysiakini and similar sites that actually invokes many of us to write and express our views. Where were all these before? Someone, somewhere decides that let's do something about it and we as good as a herd flocking to it found a following.

You and I can write as much as we want but is this making any changes?

It can only happen by action, and from a society with consciousness to do good for our own people. Seriously I don't think that the Malaysian public is adapt to it yet as we are truly a bunch of self-centred and egocentric people. Trust me, I speak of myself too. We still lack the guts to do the necessary for the so-called right causes.

I think I and many others are old enough to realise this. So let's stop talking and take some proactive action to make Malaysia a better place for our people.
