The establishment of the new Women's Affairs Ministry is to be very much applauded but will its minister Shahrizat Abdul Jalil please make a concrete start by identifying these women's issues instead of launching straight into vague promises of change?

An efficient policy needs an agenda for direction, and in this sense, the Women's Agenda for Change (WAC) is to be credited for providing a defining set of objectives.

Please, minister, give us women specific ideas that you, yourself, must readily have in mind by being a woman instead of making very general statements of commitment which, in the end, leave us nowhere.
