My advice to Sam Chan, who wrote [#1] People Power: Can we pay the price? [/#] (Feb 2), is to take a good look at Islam and learn more about the religion before speaking up. One only need to look at Terengganu and Kelantan and see how the Chinese live there. They live in perfect harmony with their Muslim neighbours.

And my good sir, you do not need experience to "run" a country. Anyone who has studied politics somewhat will know that the people who run the country are not politicians, but the civil servants, as portrayed hilariously true to life in the British comedy Yes Minister ? The politicians come and go, but the civil servants stay on and on, for as long as they live, retire or decide to leave.

So what do politicians do? Well besides making themselves and their families ridiculously rich, they "decide" on policy issues. The reason I put "decide" in inverted quotation marks is that, even in these issues, they are advised by so-called experts.

So we have to now ask, can we afford to continue with a regime that makes excuses for corruption, moral decadence and cronyism, to name a few? The question is not "Can we Malaysians pay the price for this humongous change?", rather, "Can we afford to continue the way we are?"
