I salute the parents of the 67 or so students of SRJK (C) Damansara who are trying their best to preserve the old school. Because of them, we see a new and bigger replacement school being built, and in record time!

I see a similar situation being faced by residents of Subang Jaya and USJ. Over the past 20 years, the population of these two areas must have increased manifold, but has the capacity of the only Chinese primary school, the Lik Hang Primary School in SS19, increased?

If the magnitude of the problems with the site in Damansara can be so acute, the problems in Subang Jaya USJ can be even more serious, as the population in this area is much bigger than Section 17, Bandar Utama, Taman Tun Dr Ismail combined.

So please, the Yang Berhormat, the non-governmental organisations, the civil organisations, and the government... have some thought for the poor souls in Subang Jaya USJ too. It is already a known fact that parents camp outside Lik Hang when registration is open just to scramble for a place.

Dear Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Selangor Mentri Besar Mohd Khir Toyo, if you deprive us of the fundamental right to basic education, how do you expect us to remain loyal and help achieve your noble goal of Vision 2020?
