I refer to the letter, [#1] PAS is not multiracial [/#] (Feb 13), and wish to draw your attention to two very glaring mistakes made by the writer.

Firstly, Barisan Nasional was not formed by Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj, but by the late Tun Abdul Razak, Malaysia's second prime minister, in the wake of the May 13, 1969 incident.

Secondly, PAS is definitely multiracial. Nowhere in the party constitution is any clause stating that a member of PAS must be a Malay. It only states that a PAS member must be a Muslim. Surely the writer is not too naive to think that only Malays comprise Muslims? The number of non-Malay Muslims (let me confine it to our country only) is very substantial and every one of them is eligible to become PAS members.
