Recently I went to Oda Saja Sarawak to enquire about an application for the purchase of computers through my EPF account. I was told to produce a statement from EPF so in the afternoon I managed to produce the EPF statement at the Oda Saja office. The officer said I needed to produce a photocopy of my IC so I hurried to the nearest shopping centre to get it done.

Upon arrival at the office, I was told to wait. I replied that I just needed an application form. The personnel manning the counter said he could not give me the form as I needed to fill in the form there and then in his presence and decide on the spot which computer I wish to purchase!

Buying a computer is unlike purchasing a piece of garment. You don't look at it, like it and then just buy on the spot. We need to explore the functions and at the same time consider our needs and budget.

So, Oda Saja, even if you are monopolising the computer trade through the EPF, please, kind sirs, display your professionalism and sharpen up on your customer skills.
