I read with dismay Fahri Azzat's letter entitled [#1] Religious raid discredits Islam [/#] (Feb 17). It is in fact letters like this and the likes of the writer that are the real discredit to Islam.

Quite obviously the writer lacks the most basic understanding of the religion he professes to love so much.

Rather than go on a discourse of the subject which is really highlighting the obvious to most practising Muslims, I would strongly urge the writer to refer his doubts to the nearest ulama so that he is properly guided on the demands of the religion, the Quran, the Prophet (pbuh) and ultimately the Creator himself.

Or are all ulama in a huge conspiracy to destroy Valentine celebrations?
