I am a Malaysian living in Canada for about two years now. Over here, the people treat you like you're a person. They respect my culture, religion, and me for who I am. Far away from home though I am, Canada feels like home to me, too. There is no animosity against colour, race or religion that I personally came across. People are more interested to know where I come from and what they can learn from me and about my country of origin.

Come on, Malaysians. We're past the days when we looked down on our own Malaysian friends. Let's work together, with foreigners, too. First, we must learn to love fellow Malaysians. I am talking about unity, respect, understanding and cooperation among Malaysians regardless of their colour, race, or religion.

To my dear Nigerian and African friends, I truly apologise on behalf of those mistreated you ([#1] We are people, not animals [/#] Feb 18). But please remember, not all Malaysians are as bad as those you've encountered. There are a lot of nicer souls out there.
