Where have all the good teachers gone?

Fifty thousand students failed the Bahasa Malaysia paper in last year's SPM examination! Finger pointing has begun - at the students, parents etc., - but one forgotten question is, does the education ministry have enough qualified teachers to teach BM?
Or for that matter, with the deteriorating standard of English, do we have enough qualified teachers to teach that language too?
The fact is, this is the situation facing Malaysia today. It's about time the whole education system be revamped. Until and unless the ministry has cleaned up its own internal mess, it is useless to find fault with private education establishments because at the end of the day our children, the future generation, will be the biggest losers.
