Blade Runner's letter, in his letter [#1] Rulers' role no longer as mighty [/#] (March 15) said the Rulers have continued to neglect their role as checks and balances on the politicians.

May I point out that the Sultan of Kelantan did support Tun Salleh Abbas during and after his sacking in 1988. He has also opposed Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad on many issues.
