I write not to bury malaysiakini but to praise the excellent two-part article, [#1] Racial eyesores in the Malaysian landscape [/#] (March, 27) by Dr Kua Kia Soong. His writing is authoritative, informative and intelligent, unlike the sycophantic diatribe by reader Jeffrey ([#2] The other side of the Mahafir'aun [/#], March 27).

Kua conveys a potent message of injustice and the folly of fostering a perpetual culture of dependency for bumiputra. It is not only counter-productive to the Malays themselves, but ultimately harmful to the whole nation.

Notwithstanding, if only Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad and his yes-men would permit this kind of quality and open debate, Malaysians in general would be better informed and consequently, less sycophantic. Good show, malaysiakini , for your impartiality.
