It has long been known that Pahang politicians have plundered the state's wealth in timber to enrich themselves, their families, their supporters and their cronies. Timber concessions have been dished out to Umno leaders, their relatives, supporters and cronies who sell them overnight for quick hot money.

Although late, it is nevertheless better than never that state assembly representative for Beserah Fauzi Abdul Rahman has finally brought this out in the open. The citizens of Pahang know of such malpractice all along but have kept quiet all these years because they just do not believe that any report of it will ever amount to anything, as history has shown.

The present Mentri Besar, Adnan Yaakob, is known to be serious in the fight against such abuses. The people have also become more reform-minded. This may be the right time to rid Pahang of this terrible disease.
