I would like to comment on the letter by S Radhakrishnan, [#1] Anwar should be treated locally [/#] (March 30). I respect the political opinions expressed by the writer, but please tell me what has all that got to do with Anwar Ibrahim's spinal surgery?

Anwar's surgery is a medical case and has nothing to do with politics. Anwar was examined by specialists at Tawakal Hospital and has been recommended to undergo surgery at the spinal surgery clinic in Germany. The Malaysian cabinet has however rejected this recommendation.

This reminds me of the act by the US Congress denying entry to a Palestinian child who needed to undergo operation for injuries inflicted by the Israeli army. The child was then flown to another country instead. All because of dirty politics.
