People Power as in Philippines

Doi Moi in Vietnam.

What are they?

People are the bosses. We can change the fate of the country. This is purely common sense.

However, the problem with the politicians worldwide, especially in our beloved country Malaysia is that they tend (or pretend to) forget this. In addition, we have to tell them that ‘You are wrong for taking us for a ride and do not take us for granted nor the vote and trust we gave you’.

So sometimes, the people have to come out and put these politicians back on the track. This was what happened on Saturday. Malaysia, our beloved country, will not be same anymore and it should not be. Why? Because we say so. The ‘silent majority’ can give a shock, both for the ruling party as well as for the opposition. In short, the ‘silent majority’ can be nice to you if you be nice to us.

I have been following the Malaysian politics since 1986. For me, the results of 2008 general election was not a shock or a surprise. Better late then never. It should happened long ago but only that the time had not come yet. Now is the time and we have given our vote and trust to both BN and Barisan Rakyat. Of course, each Malaysian we will be watching all the members of parliament and state assemblypersons.

Four or five years is a short period for a politician. Time flies and we will be back to assess you. Therefore, always bear in mind that the people always hold the power to determine your future and destiny. As for the media, do not insult our intelligence anymore.

Do not take us for granted. Always remember that Malaysians are smart people and we know what we are doing. I hope after this there will more open discussions to determine our country's future.

God bless Malaysia and all the best to the winning candidates.

Thank you Malaysia for waking up.
