With regard to the recent brouhaha in the Letters section over MGG Pillai's article, [#1] Mahathir deserves immunity [/#] (April 2), I must say that while I have a lot of respect for him as a writer, for providing me an alternative view of current issues and news, the venom his writings constantly secrete leaves a bad taste.

Consequently, as he is one of the columnists of malaysiakini , the website is branded as anti-government.

Perhaps the writer can find it somewhere in him to be critical if he wishes (or even praise the government when it so warrants!) but in a more gentle manner ( a la Marina Mahathir's Musings in The Star ). It would make him a journalist or columnist who will be held in greater esteem by the public.

Otherwise, my congratulations to malaysiakini for a job well done!
