Once again our government has resorted to the dirtiest trick in the book by using the Internal Security Act against its political opponents. It is a shameful act, it is a desperate act.

If the reasons given by the police for the arrest are true, then there is no need to use the ISA. These people can and should be immediately charged in court.

Malaysians are non-violent people and will not tolerate any attempt by any quarters to use violence for political ends. Neither will the people tolerate the use of the ISA, an act which has no justification for its continued existence.

I appeal to all the Barisan Nasional leaders to search their own souls. Is it really necessary to throw our country back into the dark years of the ISA just to win this round of fight with the opposition? Will you speak out against the ISA? Is the fear of your leader greater than your love for the country?
